Yesterday kicked off the first night of Howl-O-Scream 2011. This year's event includes 3 new haunted houses, 3 returning houses, the return of Alone, 2 shows and 20 different hordes of zombies, clowns and more taking over the park! Check out reviews of everything below followed by a inside look at some of the houses and photos from the event! Click any of the photos to view largeer!
Nevermore- 10/10
This house was probably my favorite, now I don't want to give away too much but the lighting and effects used is amazing in this house and there are a ton of scares to be found throughout. You will engross yourself in Poe's works like The Tell-Tale Heart, The Cask of Amontillado, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Masque of the Red Death and so much more while meandering your way through the Lenore Mansion. The waits for this house are usually the longest so be sure to head to this one early in the night!

Zombie Mortuary- 10/10
The Zombie Mortuary is another new house this year and it has something different for Howl-O-Scream, it's facade is inside the building. The cast is full of energy making this my favorite house this year. Engross yourself in the Russo Romero Mortuary, named after George Romero who is nicknamed the Godfather Of Zombies, then find your self six feet under as you are buried alive! Watch out for rats and be sure to check out your photo of you in the house by the exit!

Ultimate Gamble: Vampire Casino- 8/10
This house was fantastic as well, from the owner of the casino out front, who was the highlight of the house all the way to the All-THEY-Can-Eat buffet at the end! The sets and design of this house are the most impressive with the casino floor making you feel like you just stepped into a Las Vegas Casino. Be sure not to miss this house as you travel through the Revivara Casino and try to make it out alive!

Nightshade Toy Factory- 8/10
Nightshade Toy Factory returned and while it is mostly the same it is still a great house! Look for some lighting upgrades along with a new face in Tina Tinkles room. Lines for this house also get very long so be sure to hit this one up early on!

Death Row Vengeance: Fear The Dead- 8/10
Death Row Vengeance was infected this year, while the house is the same as previous years, they have done some cool lighting upgrades and new make up for the undead. This house is still a very solid house.

Deconstruction: The Doctor Is Out Of Control- 7/10
Deconstruction is the same as previous years and not too crowded but if it is your first year at the event be sure to check out this house.

Howl-O-Scream 2011 Hordes:
The hordes this year took the place of scarezones and it went to show that scarezones aren't even needed! Their are about 20 different hordes including zombies, clowns, mummies, werewolves, and more. They brought a ton of scares to guests and some had props around them to create an atmosphere too! Look for the zombies of the gardens with all the props as seen in the commercial in the Moroccan Village and Timbuktu!
Fiends - 9/10
Fiends is always my favorite show at Howl-O-Scream and continues to improve over the years! This year they got some new costumes along with a some gags at smart-phones and the male nurses are back along with the classic female nurses.

The Midnight Hour-10/10
The Midnight Hour is a funny show filled with all your favorite Pop Culture goodness. Join Desiree as she tries to get a contract from Hollywood hotshot Lou Cifer in The Hellfire Club. From parodies of Charlie Sheen to Sarah Palin get ready to laugh!

Omg it looks awesome can't wait
2 more weeks! Ultimate Gamble looks like it is going to be my favorite.
Can anyone tell me what I can expect to pay for an alcoholic beverage? Just bought ticket for the 13th, now I just need to set aside drink money
Steven, Prices vary but you can get shot for 5 bucks in a commemorative shot glass or a beer yard for around 10 bucks. I don't know much about that area since i'm under 21 though.
